I’m Becca Brown McKnight and I am seeking the Ward 6 City Council seat.

 

I’m running because I love Burlington. I’m running because I don’t think our city is reaching its potential. I’m running because we need bold, new solutions to tackle the problems our city is facing. 

 

I’ve lived in Burlington for nearly a decade with my husband and two young kiddos. We love living here and are here to stay. 

 

Professionally, I’m new to the arena of city government, but not to the concept of improving the world. I'm active in my kids' PTO, and I've served as the chair of Vermont's Slow Food Chapter. For the past 8 years, I’ve run a small marketing business that supports clients in the sustainability, agricultural, and parenting spheres who are making big differences with what they do and create.  I've worked with dozens of companies and non-profit organizations across the state who have made enormous positive impacts to life in Vermont. 

 

I have an MBA and use data in almost all of my work and will bring a good mind for numbers and interest in looking at numbers-based facts to this role. I also understand the challenges that businesses - both large and small - are facing and the importance of supporting them in our local community.

Finally, I come to this role as a mother who is very concerned about her children’s future. I believe possibilities are bright, but we are facing the toughest challenges of our time and must act boldly.
